Her published works – including The Man Who Lost India (Simon & Schuster), Boys Don’t Cry (Penguin Random House, 2022), The Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad Good News (Penguin Random House, 2021), How To Get Published in India (Bloomsbury, 2019), Feminist Rani (Penguin Random House, 2018), The Trouble With Women (Juggernaut, 2016), Happy Birthday (Random House India, 2013) and her debut One & A Half Wife (Westland, 2012) – have won both critical acclaim and commercial success. Several of her books, including Boys Don’t Cry, are currently being adapted for screen, further cementing her reputation as a writer whose stories demand to be told across mediums.
Recognised by leading publications as one of India’s finest writers, Pant has been honoured nationally and internationally for her contributions to literature, journalism, and gender advocacy. Her accolades include the Frank O’Connor International Award, the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, the Bharat Nirman Award, the Society Achievers Award, the Laadli Media Award, and the FICCI Young Achiever’s Award, among many others.
Before turning full-time to writing, Pant was a successful news anchor – a skill that now powers her presence on stage. She has spoken at India’s foremost literary festivals, top corporates, and premier academic institutes, captivating audiences with her wit, clarity, and courage.
Beyond books, she is an award-winning independent journalist and an emerging screenwriter with several screenplays in production. Yet her proudest role remains that of being a mother to two young daughters, who are her greatest muses.
Meghna Pant’s journey is proof that one woman’s determination can shatter ceilings, shift narratives, and inspire change – in literature, in culture, and in life itself.
